This rockin menue ,which satisfied all musical palates, included the vents keynote speaker and host, Lou Rawls Jr. the son of the late and great singer Lou Rawls, best known for his solo work—“Love is a Hurtin thing”— as well as his collaboration with the great late Sam Cooke. In fact, Lou Rawls Jr.,President of President Rawkin Media Entertainment, SR. V P of Lou Rawls Productions,  starred in “The Sam Cooke feature film, The Lou Rawls Story, as well as the much loved Ethyrea: Code of the Brethren Part 2 of 4.  Lou eloquently hosted the event and said that the Hobbit-like  Ethyrea: Code of the Brethren Part 2 of 4, ‘will be an incredible film to see, so stay tuned to be amazed by it.

B LeGRAND. a pretty female singer of Hawaiian descent, appeared and rocked and wowed the house!!.LeGrand was recently  featured in MidWeek Hawaii, on www.HawaiiLoving.com, whose skills emcompass vocals, guitar, bass guitar and keyboards, has also sung alongside the Grammy winner Bruno Mars. LeGRAND’s 3 singles——“Up Yours”, “Momma’s Boy”, and Mile After Mile”, have been mainstays on San Diego’s #1 Rock Station 105.3. According to Melissa Moniz of Midweek, ‘The 25-year-old go-getter, who sings and plays the guitar, also runs her successful graphic and Web design studio (designsbybo.com).And she also recently became the creative director and editor-in-chief for Runway Magazine Inc. based in Los Angelas.’ She is a pretty tatooed sight for the mind, body and soul. B. LeGrand not only sang but brought equipment so that others could perform and further assist We Care for Humanity raise funds for the devastated typhoon site. She is indeed an angel! Her most explosive moments were her immersion into what she called “breakup songs”. Her mastery of both the guitar, bass, and also the synthesizer was shocking. and almost hyphotic, as she sung her heart out and touched the hearts of the Valley crowd that electric night. Her band mates backed her up and intensely kept the beat tense, terse and electric.

Melissa Navarro is only 15 years old and has already  amassed a portfolio that will either make you blush gush, root for her, or be extremely jealous. Melissa just recently did a Disney commercial, and is a talented member of Wayne Brady—–singer, host of “Let’s make a Deal”-Hollywood launch Academy 2013 . In addition she has the poise of a veteran spokesperson, has sung on “The Voice Cubano”, Brandy Sander’s Kierrah Foundation musical events, KNBS TV’s “The Maurice Dwayne Smith Show”,  The House of Blues and is also a great high school student, as well as a singer and composer. You DID NOT want to miss her! But if you did, this young dynamo regulary plays at The House of Blues, and other venues for well established acts. She sang her heart out on every note and the audience begged for motre, but it was near her bedtime and she had to leave to prepare for a gig the next day at the House of Blues. God Bless Ya young stuff. I know the Philippines luvs ya, as well as the Valley, for your musical offerings at the Corbin Bowl on their behalf.

AND LAST AND CERTAINLY NOT LEAST, are R & R Crossing, two brothers—Chris and David Smith—- hailing from Chicago——–DUBBED “THE BROTHERS” BY LOU RAWLS”——, who blended their esoteric, Don Quixote-type- lifestyle and married it with soul, blues and rock, and 2-UNIQUE, a rock brother and sister twin combo wonder-kind act—-singers, composers, songwriters, acting and dancing, mesmerized the Corbin Bowl with soulful sounds, rock and an incredible Christmas rendition of “Silent Night”, respectively R& R  are two of the bluesiest cats you are going to see this side of ANYWHERE. They have a sound that is like a cold, good, smooth drink of Jim Beam—–it just makes you want to have more of it. And more of it was what R & R provided.  They were in many ways the backbone of the entire event, both the opening act, playing during intermission, while bands were resting, and the last band standing when all of the other performers went home. Like  the angel Clarence in the Xmas classic, “It’s a wonderful Life” , The Brother got their wings that night for sure!! 2-Unique, having opened for many of the biggest giants in large auditoriums in the world, struck a note with their bold, heartfelt style and smooth harmonious synchronizations, as their precocious blend of teen spirit, smote the typhoon, helped raise funds, and affected the Corbin like a train that’s never late; their music was always right on time! They’re working on an album-About to blowup! God Bless 2-U_NIQUE as they gave their all and we love them to death. Let’s hear it for the “ROCK THE TYPHOON ANGELS. THE PHILIPPINES AND WE CARE FOR HUMANITY NEEDED THEM AND THEY CAME THROUGH. THANK YOU!!

I was born in Fountainbleu in Paris France to an army family. My father ,Ruben Smith, and my mother Nancy Smith, worked for the Army and as a school teacher in France, respectively. We are originally from the South. My father’s people from Misissippi and Alabama and my mom’s from South Carolina. I am an avid sports fan and I attended and played sports----football, wresting, and track----- at Bishop England High School, in Charleston, South Carolina; my mom chose both a Catholic high school and an elementary school, Immaculate Conception, for my sister and I. Initially, I wasted a lot of time in school pursuing sports and partying but nevertheless,I went to the College of Charleston, The University of South Carolina, where I majored in Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations, with a minor in Theatre and Speech. I finally graduated from The University of Redlands, in Redlands, CA with a degree in business management. I managed to get into SAG-AFTRA, mostly as an extra, but I have done an occasional speaking stint here and there—CD-ROMs, experimental and industrial films, and voice overs in radio. My most recent endeavor was playing a doctor on "Grey's Anatomy". I like horror, love, thrillers, and I like to read. Weightliftingand jogging are some of my hobbies also. Interestingly enough, my family prepared me for a life on the move, as I have been to every state in The USA except for Alaska and Hawaii. I have an older sister who chose the teaching profession and is doing quite fine. What was i like as a child? Well I tend to think that I existed and flourished within "a culture of hate"--------however South Carolina has ceased and desisted with both "The jim Crow Laws' and flying the Confederate Flag------------I witnessed "colored only" bathrooms, and was in establishments where the Klan showed up. I stayed at hotels where my family and I found pounds of raw CHITTERLINS---hogs guts----- at our doorstep!! But don't get me wrong, as despite these ugly truths about the South, I grew up with some very cool whites, mexicans, Filipino's and other races. But it is what it is. It has Metamorphosized into being a cultural and real estate melting pot, as many from other states are recently flocking there for the cheaper home prices, very stable, safer lifestyle and "bible belt" mentality, and affordable education. I too have Metamorphosized , as I am not the militant little athletic, and partying freak I used to be and have settled into writing for Cold Heat News and assisting We Care for Humanity with their charitable functions. Consequently, I am pretty much a normal army brat who has realized that life is what you make it and people and things are subject to change. So change with life and let by gones be by gones. My dad has since passed away, and my mom and sister and most of my cousins are still alive, but their positive, significant influence, along with the impact my elementary and high school friends have had on me continues on;infact, I believe, where it not for my childhood friends, my high school football Coach Jack Cantey and occasional teenage battles with my dad, I would have become a gang member! Thus my personal manifesto is, Live hard, party when it is time, and utilize both education, and Love for God, and know that FAMILY AND FRIENDS are most important; They're one's conduit for a viable and happy life. ALSO, A FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND---NOT A "FAIR WEATHER"------INDEED.
