FRANKIE BEVERLY, LEGENDARY FRONT MAN FOR R&B GROUP MAZE DIES AT 77 and ther whole worlds has lost an angel a soul terrific songbird. From 1977 until 1993, Frankie has warmed the hearts of all who had a chance to be soothed by his righteous sultry crooning.

Discovered by the late great Marvin Gaye via his sister-in-law, Beverly formed Maze, the group, which together produced nine gold albums, according to Wikipedia, was known by his "distinctive smooth baritone".

I had the pleasure of hearing Maze back in the dy at a Kool Jazz fstival and Beverly had the crowd in the palm of his hands, as he rattled off hits such as Golden time of Day and Happy Feelings.

This incredible musical minstrel was born in December 6, 1946 and died September 10, 2024. If anyone's purpose was totally empirically clad in the here and now and right in front of your eyes it was Frankie. God speed great brother and charm em in Heaven.

According to Carter Higgin in a December 6, 2022 interview at Black Doctor .ORG, ' ON BEING AROUND SO LONG:

"I thought we were good enough to make music, but never did we think it would be like this. We thank God for all of this."

"Longevity is a gift. I think I was called to do this.  This isn't something that I myself can do.  I think I was in a position where God placed this gift in my lap.  I can write and I do have talent, but the thing that keeps our music relevant--that's all God.'
